Privacy Notice
Last updated: 2 May 2026
This notice explains how Block Consulting Ltd (“Block Consulting”, “we”, “us”) processes personal information when you use our website, enquire about services, or otherwise interact with us. It is provided for transparency and is not legal advice. If you disagree with this notice, please do not use our digital services.
1. Who we are
Block Consulting Ltd is the data controller for personal information described here, unless we act strictly as a processor on behalf of a client under a written agreement — in that case the client’s privacy notice governs their processing, and our obligations are set out in contract.
Contact: contact@blockconsulting.co.uk
Postal: A07 Magna Business Park, Temple Road, Rotherham, Yorkshire, S60 1FG, United Kingdom.
2. What we collect
- Information you send us — for example name, work email, phone number, job title, and the content of enquiries when you email us or submit a contact request.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, device identifiers, approximate location derived from IP, and usage data such as pages viewed. We collect this through server logs and, if you consent, optional analytics cookies.
- Sensitive categories — we do not ask for health, biometric, or similarly sensitive data through this website. Please do not send it unless a separate engagement explicitly requires it and we have agreed safeguards.
3. Why we use your information
We process personal information to respond to enquiries, deliver contracts, maintain IT security, improve our website, comply with law, and — where permitted — send relevant service updates. Where we rely on consent (for example non-essential cookies), you may withdraw it at any time without affecting processing that is based on other lawful grounds.
4. Lawful bases (UK / EEA)
Depending on the activity, we rely on contract (taking steps at your request or performing an agreement), legitimate interests (running a secure, professional consultancy and understanding how our site is used, balanced against your rights), legal obligation, or consent (where required for optional marketing or non-essential cookies).
5. Cookies
Necessary cookies enable core functionality. Analytics cookies are optional and disabled until you opt in via the cookie banner. You can reopen preferences anytime using Cookie preferences in the site footer. Blocking non-essential cookies may limit certain analytics features but will not prevent you from viewing public pages.
6. Sharing and international transfers
We use a limited set of infrastructure and communications providers to host the site and deliver email. Where data leaves the UK/EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement / EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or adequacy decisions, supplemented by risk assessments where required.
7. Retention
We keep enquiry records and client correspondence for as long as needed to fulfil the purpose, manage disputes, or meet legal, tax, or insurance requirements — typically up to seven years for contract-related material unless a shorter period applies. Server logs rotate on a shorter technical cycle.
8. Security
We apply administrative and technical measures appropriate to the risk, including access control and encryption in transit. No online service can be guaranteed perfectly secure; you should transmit especially sensitive information only through agreed secure channels.
9. Your rights
Under UK GDPR / GDPR you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or port your personal data, and to object to certain processing. You may lodge a complaint with the UK ICO or your local supervisory authority. To exercise rights, email us at the address above; we may need to verify your identity.
10. Children
Our services are aimed at businesses. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16 through this site.
11. Changes
We may update this notice to reflect legal or operational changes. The “Last updated” date will change and, where appropriate, we will provide a short notice on the website.
